hihi im writing this from melbourne, ive updated my blog admin and code to add independant embed images for them! this also gets added to the rss feed so now you get to look at the default cat embed image slightly less, sorry.

ive also started work on a shrine page for a character, but ill probably only really get to build it out when im back home. if you have shrines, how do you tend to use anything like fanart on them? it feels slightly weird to be asking an artist in another language if i can feature their art on a personal website but maybe thats just me? maybe ill have to slowly build up an example

heyyyy made some minor updates and fixes to the site for a few things bothering me

• hover sounds will repeat less often on links with nested elements, theres a few edge cases still but this should make the interaction a bit nicer :)
• made some adjustments to the chatbox and now the page animation wont cut the catgirl off!
• fixed the rss feed handling converting embeds to links wrong (href not src!)
• some adjustments to mobile for a few things like motion sickness from the scrolling background, its just still now but maybe ill figure something out down the line :/

ive been doing ok besides that :) im going on a little trip to melbourne for a bit soon so im looking forward to that, if anyone happens to know of any good fashion (vintage and c/j/k-fashion!) stores down there please let me know. ive also been practicing singing a bit,,,,, i want to do vocaloid covers........

im alive! been busy but part of that busy has been that system i talked abt 2 updates ago ehe, ive learnt a lot about servers, docker and more since then and hope to fix some things up here to make my life asier

not much has happened with this site but i could not update this thing for a while because i was working on Another Thing and broke my build system for the cms to this and couldnt write stuff, i can now, i love creating elaborate deployment systems to update a site.

i might have more to share about it later, but the Thing is a system that will make it easier for me to build more sites in the future very quickly. im quite happy with it because it builds on everything i did with this site :)

i should really use this space for more than site updates like life updates would be cute, anyway trying something with the animations that will eventually need more work but at least its neat, moved the data context used for the blog previews and generation to purely build/server side so i hopefully can ship less of that data to the frontend

taking a break from backend hell to have some fun on frontend

• improved images in content to not have pixelated render
• added better indicators for external links and cleaned up styling a bit (i did not know box-decoration-break  was a thing)
• swapped out my svg loading strategy to inject svgs at build time, hopefully making them lighter and less jumpy
• added a fun scrolling overlay <3
• reenabled astros default view transitions, i disabled this ages ago because it felt unpredictable but hopefully things are better now

no one will ever notice this because there is no frontend change but rebased and migrated my entire cms stack to payload 3 in a docker container. when i started this project payload was still in version 2, but i just took so long that they changed entire major versions. i rant a lot about it in a blog post if you care to read

i wrote my first proper blog post! its about rss feeds because i want people to use my rss feed but also rss in general. you can read it here

this was also a good test of my typography and segment css, so ive made some adjustments there as a result, the text size was a bit small and the column width was a bit cramped so theyve just been bumped out

added a basic rss feed! will slowly be adding support for more of its features but i think rss is awesome, i also want to write a guide for getting started with it

completely rewrote the site from scratch :) this is about 2 years in the making, and the hope/reason for doing so is to make updating it stupid easy for me, as well as make it more maintainable and performant, and better/easier to design (if you liked the old design sorry)
